Annually in December another polar tourist expedition of Informbank Agency sets out - to Antarctic, the South Pole.

Russian tourists fly out from Moscow to Capetown (SAR), adventure lovers from other countries of Europe, Asia and America join them there. Then, the group in a body flies off on a specially equipped airplane to the Russian Antarctic base "Novolazarevskoye" and further - to an American base "Amundsen-Scott", which is geographically right in the South Pole point.

About 300 people reside on the Russian base whose task is to explore the Glacial Continent. In fact, it is a small town with all inherent urban attributes - houses, restaurants, and places of entertainment. For this reason, the major program, in which various Antarctic amusements and attractions are included, is realized in "Novolazarevskoye". It is here that one can see real Antarctic with colonies of the biggest royal penguins, rookeries of fur seals and sea lions.

| The Association of Polarmen of Russian Federation

The association is a social organization that aims at participation in working out the North development programs, aiding in setting up drifting research stations and Arctic and Antarctic expeditions, as well as at providing technical and organizational support for ecological tourism and other activities.

President of the Association is Arthur Chilingarov, In 1969 - 1971 he managed the "North Pole" drifting stations, headed a number of research expeditions to the Arctic and Antarctic. In 1986 - 1991 he was a deputy head of the USSR State Committee for Hydrometeorology and Environment Monitoring. He is a member-correspondent of the Russian Academy of Science, a member of the Britain Royal Geographical Society and the International Research Club. Presently, he is a deputy chairman of the State Duma of Russia.
